I got great feedback from beta readers on Draft. No. 5, no giant plot holes, varying opinions, no record scratch moments. I figured I’d read through it one last time and then polish it up and start querying.
Then I read through it one last time.
I haven’t looked at FLOOD since March, so that separation made some of my writing ticks super obvious to me and the novel is going to need more than a polishing.

My initial reaction was disappointment, but as I get closer to finishing the read-through, I’m coming to terms with it and looking forward to getting in there and making this leaner, tighter, and hopefully better!
Eh, what’s a couple more months?
